The following is taken from a letter written by the fiance of a resident in our Restoration Program.

Dear Glory House Staff,

For the last 3 years, J and I have looked for help with her battle against depression.  It seemed no matter what avenue we took to get help, it never seemed to work out.

In January 2008, I was in my work truck listening to KXOJ. I began thinking about J and the breakdown she had the night before. I began weeping, asking God for help. I prayed very hard for the next 5 to 10 minutes, believing with all of my heart that God was going to show me his will for her that very day.

I remembered a speaker once said if you pray to God and ask him for something you had to believe it was going to happen and start preparing for it just as the farmer prepared his land after praying to God to send rain.  After I prayed, a feeling of peace came.  I knew that I had completely given that burden to Jesus Christ.

I was half way listening to the radio (100.9 KXOJ).  I heard the phrase that went something like "women that suffer from depression”.  I wrote down the number and continued to listen to the rest of the commercial for Glory House.  I knew that God was working through the radio station to show me his will for J.  When J called, I told her that I had some incredibly exciting news to tell her.

I picked her up for lunch and told her that I prayed about her situation and God answered my prayer with Glory House.  I went home that day and looked up the website. We began to read everything about Glory House and some of the success stories and exactly what the program was about.... RESTORATION!!! PRAISE GOD!!

I contacted the Program Director.  She explained things to me about the program and was very interested in talking with J.  We were able to set up an appointment to see if we could get J into the program.

J moved into Glory House on Friday, February 21, 2008 at 5:03 p.m.  When I left, I knew that she was in the hands of God's people and that, through them, He would restore her faith and confidence, and allow her to see herself as the beautiful, intelligent, AMAZING Christian woman that she really is.

I thank God for Glory House and its wornderful staff.  I pray for them every day, knowing they are truly doing wonderful things for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sincerely yours,

K
